I SPEAK OPUNTIA, YOU SPEAK PROGRESS
A speculative installation and performance where the bio-political is personal.
Two female insect species; the Dactylopius coccus slate insect and Cactoblastis cactorum moth bear witness to their (her)story, sharing from their past in this speculative performance and installation.
Both species played a vital role in the introduction and the biological control of the Opuntia stricta cactus (Prickly Pear) in Australia during the epoch of colonisation.
